The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) is one of the largest global non-profit organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. Experts from all areas of pharmaceutical production develop best practice solutions together for high quality and effectiveness. For many years, onoff AG employees have been a part of international ISPE project teams, taken part in workshops, and actively contributed their expertise.
A current example is the Pharma 4.0 working group “Plug & Produce, Worksteam 1 – Connectivity,” whose goal is to actively promote Plug & Produce interfaces. The initial framework for the definition of the Plug & Produce interface was developed in a recently published concept paper. In the future, interfaces developed on this basis will allow data to be exchanged between plant control systems, automation systems and orchestration layer applications (MES/MOM) in uniform structures. This means plants can be connected to the computer network and directly integrated into the production flow.
“The international exchange of experience in the ISPE working groups and the collaborative development of solutions is extremely valuable for us. We are proud to be a part of this important work and to be able to contribute our expertise. The results of the working group actively flow into research and development at onoff AG, and our customers directly profit,” explains Heiko Kröber, Technical Director of onoff engineering GmbH, who works with his colleagues Fabian Rauer and Volker Lüdeling in the ISPE Pharma 4.0 working group.
